Barcelona Will Be Spanish Media El Mundo Leaks Out Lionel Messi Important Documents

JAKARTA Barcelona is preparing to take legal action against Spanish media, El Mundo, who leaked the contents of Lionel Messi's demands to extend his contract in 2020.

Information regarding Messi's request was leaked this week. In the report, La Pulga required Barcelona to meet nine main demands so that he would not leave Camp Nou.

The leak of the classified document made Barcelona bloodied. They regretted the way El Mundo exacerbated the club's image.

"In connection with the information published today at El Mundo del Siglo XXI under the title 'Bara Leaks, the Club's secret files part 1', FC Barcelona expressed anger over the intentional leak of information that is part of the legal process," Barcelona wrote on their website.

"The club regrets that the media concerned boasts of having "access to a large number of documents and emails that are part of Barcagate's investigation" when this information has not been shared," the statement continued.

Two of the nine demands made by Messi were later rejected by Barcelona's president at the time, Josep Maria Bartomeu. The two demands are a bonus contract extension of 10 million euros and the abolition of the release clause.

The nine demands of Lionel Messi were obtained by EL Mundo through several emails and documentation access related to Barcagate, a corruption case involving Bartomeu.

"However, the article in question is making public documents related to the ongoing case and its use is an insult to the reputation and confidentiality of the club. For that reason, and to protect Barcelona's rights, the club's legal department is studying the legal steps that need to be taken," Barcelona added.

Barcelona is trying to find a solution from 2020 to 2021 so that Messi wants to increase his stay at Camp Nou. However, both parties did not find an agreement until La Pulga's contract ended in 2021.

Messi then decided to move to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. His move managed to shock the transformer exchange at the time.

2). Private stands for his family and Luis Suarez;

3). Bonus extension contract of 10 million euros;

4). Deleting the release clause;

5). Pay off salary cuts from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic with interest;

6). A private plane for a flight to Argentina is Christmas;

7). Increased salary if tax increases;

8). Pepe Costa's personal assistant contract must continue; and

9). Commission for his brother, Rodrigo Messi.
