Officially Registering Manchester United With Transfer Values 1.4 Trillion, Antony: Extraordinary Moments In My Career

JAKARTA Manchester United has completed the signing of Antony from Ajax Amsterdam for £ 82 million or IDR 1.4 trillion.

The club based at Old Trafford announced through their official website on Thursday, September 1 afternoon of Western Indonesian Time (WIB). Antony contracted for a five-year duration.

"Manchester United has completed Antony's transfer from Ajax. He has signed a contract until 2027, with the option of an additional year", the Red Devils wrote on their official website.

This Brazil international is the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history. The figure issued by MU was also criticized by several parties because it was considered too big.

Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder even openly disagreed with the Red Devils' transfer policy. He considered Antony not worthy of being bought at such a high price.

Antony scored a total of 31 goals and 27 assists in 134 club appearances for Ajax and Sao Paulo. He also scored two goals and two assists in nine appearances with the Brazilian national team.

During his time with Ajax, he won two Edivisione titles. As for the Samba team, he won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Antony is Manchester United's fifth purchase of the season after Casemiro, badminton Malacia, Leandro Martinez, and Christian Eriksen. Later will follow Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka who will join the loan status.
