JAKARTA - The tight competition of Liga 1 2022/2023 has eaten many victims. Five foreign coaches had to give up their positions.

The latest is Dejan Antonic. The Serbian man left Barito Putera because he was considered to have failed to bring his club to good results at the start of the season.

The expulsion of Dejan Antonic from the Barito Putera coach was announced by the club via their social media. Apart from Dejan, Mladen Dodic was also released.

Barito Putera Manager Ikhsan Kamil said this decision was the agreement of both parties. "The choice to end the collaboration is definitely a matter of achievement, we know Barito's current position is at the bottom of the standings," he explained.

Dejan is not the first "victim" at the start of the season. Previously, it was Robert Rene Alberts who left the coach of Persib Bandung. The reason is the same, unable to bring his team to achieve maximum results.

As long as it was held by Robert at the beginning of League 1 this season, Persib never won. After he stepped down, the team managed to win two victories.

After Roberts, Javier Rocha also had the same fate. He stepped down from the coach seat of Persik Kediri. Then there is the name Jacksen F Tiago who decided to leave his position as coach of Persis Solo.

Not long ago, PSIS Semarang also took the same step as its rivals. They kicked Sergio Alexandre from the coaching position. For all the same reasons, poor results at the start of the 2022/2023 Liga 1 season.
