Indonesia Is The General Champion Of The 2022 ASEAN Para Games, Menpora Promises To Build A Training Center In Karanganyar: According To President Jokowi's Directions

JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent achieved an extraordinary achievement in the 2022 ASEAN Para Games. The Red and White Squad managed to emerge as the overall champion and exceeded the target set.

Indonesia managed to come out as the overall champion after winning 175 gold medals, 144 silver and 106 bronze medals.

Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali admitted that he was not surprised by Indonesia's success in winning the overall champion status. However, he was surprised by the achievement of the gold medal of the Indonesian contingent which exceeded the target.

"It's not that surprising that Indonesia won the overall championship. What's surprising is that the gold medal achievement exceeded the target to reach 175 gold," said the Minister of Youth and Sports as quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, this extraordinary achievement was triggered by the same treatment from the government for disabled athletes with non-disabled athletes. Both in terms of facilities, training, to appreciation and bonuses.

The man from Gorontalo later revealed that the government would build a training center for athletes with disabilities in Karanganyar. This is in accordance with President Joko Widodo.

"There will be a training center, made, according to the direction of President Joko Widodo. Later it will be in Karanganyar," he said.

"There are many other supporting facilities in the area. Hopefully with this Indonesia's achievements can increase," continued Menpora Zainudin Amali.
