Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed an increase in the volume of inter-provincial intercity bus (AKAP) passengers ahead of the 2024 Christmas holiday to 44.39 percent compared to last week.

Of the seven bus terminals in Jakarta as of December 20, 5,126 passengers arrived with 1,036 vehicles entering Jakarta. In the previous week, the average reached 1,025 passengers from 923 vehicles.

Meanwhile, there were 7,019 passengers departing outside Jakarta with 923 vehicles. Last week, passengers departed from Jakarta 3,718 passengers from 816 vehicles.

"At 7 AKAP service terminals, there was an increase in the number of departing passengers by 88.77 percent with a total of 7,019 passengers and passengers arriving up by 9.23 percent with a total of 5,126 passengers," said Syafrin in his statement, Sunday, December 22.

In detail, there was an increase of 51.16 passengers at Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal, 46.43 percent at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, 19.34 percent at Kalideres Terminal, 8.53 percent at Tanjung Priok Terminal, 282.12 percent at Lebak Bulus Terminal, 47.32 percent at Angke Terminal, and 51.57 percent at Grogol Terminal.

Then, there was an increase in the volume of vehicles by 5.17 percent which crossed the Jakarta entrance toll road at four toll gates, namely Cikampek Utama, Kahurip Utama, Ciawi, and Cikupa compared to 2023.

The volume of vehicles on toll roads leaving Jakarta also increased by 4.67 percent at the four Cikampek Utama, Kahurip Utama, Ciawi, and Cikupa toll gates when compared to last year.

Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency noted a decrease in passengers transporting waters to and from the Thousand Islands, covering 11 ports, namely Muara Angke, Untung Jawa, Lancang, Tidung, Pari, Payung, Pramuka, Panggang, Kelapa, Harapan, and Sebira.

"When compared to the average passenger 12-18 December 2023, the number of passengers decreased by 31.31 percent," said Syafrin.
