Enduring Pain In The 2022 Singapore Open Final, Siti Fadia: I Want To Win So Much!

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti won the Singapore Open 2022 after defeating Zhang Shu Xian/Zheng Yu in the final which took place on Sunday, July 17. They won two straight games 21-14 and 21-17 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

This title is their third title since making their debut at the 2021 SEA Games Hanoi. In total, they have reached four finals in six tournaments.

Apriyani said that from the start she and Siti Fadia had the same determination, which was to become a champion. It was this same determination and vision that brought them to be winners at the Singapore Open 2022.

In fact, it was the determination to win that also made Siti Fadia willing to endure the pain during the match. Yes, in the final against the Chinese champion, Siti Fadia had a problem with her left heel.

The coach, Eng Hian, has asked Apriyani and Siti Fadia if they want to resign. However, Siti Fadia firmly answered that she wanted to continue the struggle.

"I replied that I was still playing, even though my left heel was still sore. I was adamant and forced myself to keep playing. My desire to win was so great," said Siti Fadia as quoted by Antara.

This victory was then presented by Siti Fadia to all Indonesian people who have supported them. Of course, this success cannot be separated from the cold hands of the coach, Eng Hian.

Eng Hian said he was happy with their achievements. However, he admits that he will not be complacent and will continue to polish the performance of Apriyani/Siti Fadia because they are now the target of their rivals.

"They have to be more prepared. Moreover, there are so many big championships waiting. As a pair that is improving in performance, of course, Apriyani/Siti Fadia will be more vigilant and monitored by opponents," he said.
