JAKARTA - The coach of the U-19 Indonesia national team, Shin Tae-yong, is reluctant to give excessive praise to Hokky Caraka when he appears in the 2022 U-19 AFF Cup. According to the coach, even though he looks good, Hokky still has to learn.

The Indonesian U-19 national team scored a goal against Brunei Darussalam in the second match of the Group A phase. In the match at the Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi, the hosts won 7-0.

Of the seven goals that were created, four of them were donations from Hokky Caraka in the first half. While the other three goals were contributed by Ronaldo Kwateh, Arkhan Fikri, and Alfrianto Nico.

Although Hokky appeared impressive in this match, Shin Tae-yong didn't want to overdo it. He chose not to give praise to the player and instead encouraged Hokky to be able to perform better in the next match.

"First, for Hokky (Caraka) today even though he scored four goals, but he has many shortcomings and has to learn more," Shin said at a press conference after the match.

Shin Tae-yok responded to this big victory wisely. Instead of flattering one player, the coach actually called this result the hard work of the whole team.

"It should be noted today that our team played well so we got a good result. We applied a different formation from the previous game, but all of this (the win) was due to the hard work of the team that made us reap good results," said the coach.

Hokky Caraka is a young player assisted by PSS Sleman. Before entering the U-19 national team squad, Hokky was also Shin Tae-yong's choice of player who appeared in the 2022 Toulon Cup squad in France.
