JAKARTA - Prince Naseem Hamed has retired from boxing. However, he found a way to live up to his royal nickname.

Hamed, 48, has held multiple world titles in his 10-year professional career, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest British cross-division fighters of all time.

Prince retired with a 36-1 record where the only defeat he suffered was in 2001. At that time he was defeated by Mexican boxer Marco Barrera.

Hamed's recent performances suggest that he won't be returning to boxing anytime soon. Of course not at featherweight level, but exhibition boxing like other veterans.

The Sheffield-born star has gained weight since hanging up his gloves in 2002 following a hard-won victory over Manuel Calvo.

However, the man who made more than 40 million pounds (IDR 729.1 billion) throughout his career is clearly not losing his fortune. According to The Sun, Thursday, he is currently renting a £1.4 million townhouse in the Windsor Castle complex. Yes, the Prince is now a neighbor of Queen Elizabeth II.

Recently, Hamed was reportedly spotted in the area shopping while walking his pet dog. However, a witness said he no longer has a problem being mobbed by his adoring fans.

"He used to be known for his deadly punch and showmanship, but now almost no one recognizes him," the person said referring to the location of Hamed's house.

"But it's nice to see Prince Naseem living in the shadow of the royal family," he added.

For all his prowess in the ring, Hamed's reputation was tarnished when in 2006 he was involved in a serious crash that left another rider, Anthony Burgin, seriously injured.

As a result, Hamed was sentenced to 15 months in prison and four years banned from driving. However, he was only jailed for 16 weeks and is serving the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

As of 2015, he was still inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. About three years later, he publicly fell out with Chris Eubank Jr following his loss to George Groves.
