JAKARTA - Lenovo Ducati racer, Jack Miller, does not want to give up the competition for the 2022 MotoGP world title. According to him, the competition is still wide open considering that this season has only run four series.
In the previous four races, Jack Miller can be said to be inconsistent in terms of results. In the first race in Qatar, he failed to finish.
Jack Miller paid for it by finishing fourth in the Indonesian MotoGP race at the Mandalika Circuit, last March 20. However, he slumped again during the MotoGP race in Argentina and finished 14th.
At the American MotoGP race at the Austin Circuit, last weekend, Miller was back in full swing. He took the podium after finishing third.
Currently, the Australian rider is in seventh place in the drivers' standings with 31 points. The former Pramac Ducati rider is 30 points adrift of Enea Bastianini who occupies the top position of the standings.
Although not consistent, Miller said the nicks he achieved with Ducati this season were positive. He also believes he can still compete in the title race.
"We've only had four races and I'm already on the podium, so it's positive. The championship is still long and a lot can happen," Miller said, quoted by Crash.
"I am the 10th rider to be on the podium in MotoGP 2022, and we are only in the fourth race. That says it all. The championship is still open," he continued.
According to the 27-year-old racer, the real championship competition will only begin in the European series. The fifth MotoGP 2022 series is scheduled to take place on April 24 at the Portimao Circuit, Portugal.
