JAKARTA – Formula 1 (F1) announced a new series to race next season. The series that is included in the 2023 calendar is Las Vegas, United States.

The inclusion of Las Vegas in the racing calendar was announced by F1 and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority via their social media accounts on Thursday, March 31, the morning of Indonesian Western Time (WIB). This race will be held at night in November.

This series marks the third F1 race to be held in the United States. Previously the country already had two series each at the Miami Grand Prix and the United States Grand Prix in Texas.

F1 was previously held in Las Vegas which lasted from 1981 to 1984. At that time the race here was known as the Caesars Palace Grand Prix.

"This is an extraordinary moment for Formula 1 which demonstrates the immense appeal and growth of our sport with the third race in the US. Las Vegas is a destination known worldwide for the excitement, hospitality, thrill and of course, the famous Las Vegas Strip," F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali was quoted as saying by Sport Illustrated.

The 3.8 mile or 6.12 km long circuit has three main straight tracks and 14 bends. The top speed of an F1 car is estimated at over 212 miles per hour (312 km). The race will be held over 50 laps to determine the podium.

"There is no better place to race Formula 1 than in the world's global entertainment capital and we can't wait to be here next year. I want to thank everyone who helped organize this event," continued Domenicali.

F1 this season will hold 23 race series or the longest in the racing calendar ever. That number is predicted to increase again because Africa has not held a race so far.

The information is that a country in Africa will soon be included in the calendar of the jet land race and it will be announced soon. The 2022 F1 season is currently underway and has already completed the Bahrain Grand Prix which took place on March 20.
