JAKARTA - The billionaire owner of Manchester United, Avram Glazer, is seen queuing for a free kebab at the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Glazers were present at the opening race of the new season at the Bahrain International circuit in Sakhir, Sunday local time. But his presence surprised fans.

Despite having a personal net worth of $1 billion, Glazer was caught on camera waiting in line for a free kebab while he was in the paddock ahead of the race.

The Glazer family, which also owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL franchise, had an overall net worth of $4.7 billion (IDR 64.5 trillion) in 2015 according to Forbes.

No doubt, fans quickly reacted to see Glazer waiting for free food. Quoted from the Daily Star, one commented: "So happy to have free food in the paddock for those in need."

Another added: "Look where Avram Glazer showed up, when did he show up at Old Trafford?"

A third United supporter brutally wrote: "It's good to see the poor get the prize."

Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to ask the Glazers to sell United, seeing the free kebab option as yet another reason to dislike their beloved club's owners.

The Glazers have been the majority shareholder of the Red Devils since 2005. However, United have been in debt since then and have often sparked fan protests.

Neither Avram nor his brother Joel - both executive chairman at United - have also been criticized for their lack of interaction with fans or attendance at United's games since buying the club.

Moreover, United have now gone nine years without a league title and will end the season without a trophy for the fifth year in a row.
