Luis Diaz's Arrival Is Considered A Threat To His Position At Liverpool, Sadio Mane: It's Not A Competition

JAKARTA - The competition on Liverpool's front lines is considered to be heating up after the Reds brought in Luis Diaz. Diaz's presence is said to threaten Sadio Mane's position.

However, Mane was not worried. He admitted that Diaz's presence was not a competition but was considered a profitable thing to increase the depth of the team.

"I don't see it (Luis Diaz's presence) as competition. I feel like it can actually make us all better. If you want the team to be great, then you need players like that," said Sadio Mane.

Diaz became Liverpool's only signing in the January transfer market yesterday. The Colombian winger was brought in by the Reds from FC Porto with a tag of £37.5 million or approximately IDR 728 billion and was immediately tied to a contract until June 2026.

Diaz is a player that Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has wanted for a long time. The tactician even had to hasten the arrival of Diaz, which was originally planned for this summer for fear of the winger being cornered by Tottenham Hotspur, who were also after him.

After officially becoming part of the Reds, Diaz has appeared in two matches by contributing two assists for his teammates. If you look at his slick record, Diaz is predicted to be increasingly enlivening the competition in Liverpool's attack line which so far already consists of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Divock Origi and Sadio Mane.
