South OKU Police Arrest Ojol Driver Killer

South Sumatra Police Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) revealed the murder case of victim Budianto (45) an online motorcycle taxi driver who was found dead in a rubber plantation on Monday (17/3). Police arrested the perpetrator of the murder with the initials DE (25).

"The suspect was arrested just hours after the victim's body was found," said South OKU Deputy Chief of Police, Kompol Hendro Suwarno, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 19.

The victim's body was found in a rubber plantation belonging to a resident of Trans Saga Village, Buay Runjung District on Monday (17/3).

The victim suffered cuts to the neck, stab wounds to the back, and bruises to the left side of the face with the condition of the corpse already decaying.

The police suspect that this case was a robbery accompanied by murder because the victim's motorbike and cell phone were not found at the scene.

From the results of the investigation, it was revealed that DE perpetrators deliberately pretended to be online motorcycle taxi passengers to launch their actions.

The perpetrator ordered the victim's motorcycle taxi service through an application to be escorted to a quiet location around the rubber plantation in Trans Saga Village.

After arriving at a location far from residential areas, the perpetrator immediately attacked the victim with a sharp weapon in the neck and back until he died covered in blood, then fled his property.

"Thanks to the results of the initial investigation, the perpetrator was identified and arrested in a short time. Currently, the suspect and the evidence confiscated from the victim have been secured at the South OKU Police Headquarters," he said.
