Babel Community Leaders: If You Are Often Called Illegal Miners, Then Just Close The Tin Mining

JAKARTA - Community leaders Bangka Belitung Elly Rebuin commented on the post-vonic of defendant Aon CS in the case of a sub-drain mine.

"If people miners continue to be called illegal miners and the confiscation party becomes corruptors and is found guilty, then just stop the tin industry in Bangka," Elly told reporters, December 30.

According to Elly, this pattern will continue to occur in the future. Thus, there will continue to be allegations of corruption and people's miners are still accused of being illegal despite working in a clear work contract and IUP.

"This construction is fair and reasonable for the people of Babel? It is enough that we suffer. So the poorest province in Indonesia and continues to be labeled illegally. All provisions of the law have been fulfilled, reclamation guarantees have been paid, in fact they are still punished. The government failed to protect the people of Bangka Belitung," he complained.

Elly had previously been a factual witness in the trial of the corruption case of tin trading at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

During the trial, Elly rejected that the people's miners who worked at the PT Timah IUP were referred to as illegal miners. According to him, illegal miners are those who mine in protected forests or in areas that do not have a permit.

Elly also conveyed an increase in production volume and profit from the smelter cooperation with PT Timah.

Actually, the enemy of the tin mining industry is smugglers (smokels). It's not a smelter or tin mining," explained Elly.

One of the important points that Elly and Bangka Belitung Care Forum are fighting for is filing a lawsuit against Prof. Bambang Hero Saharjo, an IPB expert who said that there had been a state loss of IDR 271 trillion due to mining in Bangka Belitung.

Bambang Hero must be legally responsible. Because he calculated that one province was a victim, the economy collapsed, layoffs increased," he concluded.
