JAKARTA - The United Nations Agency for Assistance and Work for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) says Israeli occupation authorities kill one Palestinian child every hour in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement issued on Tuesday the century said, "There is no place for children," as quoted from WAFA December 25.

"A child is killed every hour. It's not just a number, it's a shortened life," the agency said.

UNRWA further stressed that there is no justification for killing children in the Gaza Strip that all surviving children "have been physically and psychologically injured."

UNRWA pointed out that children lost their education, because "men and girls in Gaza spent their time searching among the rubble."

"Time is running out for these children. They are losing their lives, the future, and most of their hopes," the agency warned.

Last July, UNRWA said "children in the Gaza Strip face tragedy and trauma every day."

Last week, the United Nations (UNICEF) Children's Fund in a statement he released said about 14,500 children in Gaza had died since the latest conflict broke out.

"Gaza must be one of the most heartbreaking places in the world for humanitarian activists. Every small effort to save a child's life was canceled by a devastating devastation. For more than 14 months, children have been at the forefront of this nightmare, with more than 14,500 children reported killed and thousands injured," the agency said.

"Towards the end of the year, as the world seeks to celebrate its family, peace, and togetherness, in Gaza, the reality experienced by more than one million children is fear, shortcomings, and inconceivable suffering," he continued.

"The war on children in Gaza is a reminder of our shared responsibility. A generation of children have experienced brutal violations of their rights and destruction of their future," the agency said.

Separately, Gaza's health authorities on Sela Day confirmed that the death toll from Palestine since the new conflict broke out had reached 45,338 people, 107,764 others were injured, the majority being women and children.
