JAKARTA - The police have named a village head (kades) in South Konawe (Konsel), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra), as a suspect in a corruption case of village funds amounting to Rp386 million.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Konsel Police, AKP Nyoman Gede Arya, said the village head had the initials EM (32), served in Kolono District, Konsel.
"EM was named a suspect on suspicion of committing a criminal act of corruption in village funds for the 2021-2022 fiscal year," said Nyoman Gede in Andoolo when contacted, Friday, December 20, by Antara.
He said the case was revealed after EM disbursed the 2021-2022 budget village funds. At the time the funds were disbursed, they were used for several activity items without involving village officials.
Nyoman explained that in the 2021 budget, the disbursement funds were used for BUMDes' capital participation of Rp. 40 million, but it turned out that the report was fictitious. Then, the use of funds for the provision of material for fiber boat manufacturing was short of material volume with a budget value of Rp. 118.6 million.
Nyoman revealed, then in the 2022 budget search, suspect EM again used the budget with several other activities which were also indicated to be fictitious covering the marine sector of fisheries, food security, and animal.
In activities in the marine and fisheries sector which are considered fictitious, namely the procurement of a Phase I crab budget of Rp. 23 million and phase II of Rp. 41 million, procurement of trawlers with a budget of Rp. 30 million, procurement for the construction of fiber boats with a budget of Rp. 89 million.
Then in activities in the field of food security and fictitious animals, namely processing agricultural land with a budget of Rp. 30 million, procurement of corn seedlings of Rp. 10 million, procurement of fence nets of Rp. 2.6 million, and procurement of pest poisons of Rp. 500 thousand.
"As a result of these unlawful acts and irregularities, it caused state financial losses of Rp. 386.4 million," said Nyoman.
He revealed that after being named a suspect in a corruption case in village funds, EM then carried out file equipment and transferred it to the South Konawe District Attorney (Kejari).
"For the case of the corruption case of suspect EM, we have transferred or stage II to the South Kalimantan Kejari. Furthermore, a judicial process will be carried out against the suspect," he said.
Nyoman Gede added that the eradication related to corruption in village funds was in accordance with the orders of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in supporting the Astacita program.
