Polda Metro Will Examine Witnesses About Firli Bahuri's Case Of Rice SYL In A Week

Polda Metro Jaya will again examine witnesses and experts after naming the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri as a suspect in the alleged extortion case against the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL. A series of examinations were carried out for a week.

"For the next week, investigators have scheduled or formulated an investigation plan or active follow-up investigation to examine witnesses who have been previously examined," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Friday, November 24.

The series of examinations will begin on Monday, November 27. It is known, before naming Firli Bahuri as a suspect, investigators have examined 91 witnesses and 8 experts.

Apart from dozens of witnesses, investigators will also examine four KPK leaders. They include Alexander Marwata, Johanis Tanak, Nawawi Pomolango, and Nurul Ghufron.

However, it was not detailed about the exact time of the examination of the Deputy Chairpersons of the KPK.

"Including that, we are on an agenda for next week's examination regarding the examination of the leaders of the Indonesian KPK," he said.

Meanwhile, the investigation of Filri as a suspect cannot be conveyed. It was only emphasized that investigators would first examine witnesses and experts.

"Later we will update the next (inspection of Firli Bahuri)," said Ade.

Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22.

Several pieces of evidence that became the basis for determining the suspect, namely, foreign exchange documents worth Rp7.4 billion. Then, there were also the results of the extraction of 21 cellphones.

In the case of alleged extortion and acceptance of gratuities, Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
