JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated members of the Central Leadership Council and the Advisory Council of the Veterans Council of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI) for the period 2022-2027 at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 22.

"Today, Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023, I am the President of the Republic of Indonesia hereby officially inaugurate you in the membership of the Central Leadership Council and the Advisory Council of the Veterans Council of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2022-2027," said the President reading the inauguration script.

The inauguration of LVRI membership is based on the Presidential Decree (Keppres) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 44/M/2023 concerning the Ratification of the Dismissal and Appointment of the Central Leadership Council and the LVRI Central Advisory Council.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended online by other LVRI members via video conference.

In the agenda, HBL Mantiri was inaugurated as General Chair of the LVRI Central Executive Board, while as Chairman of the LVRI Central Advisory Council, namely Ito Sumardi.

"I believe that you will carry out your duties as well as possible in accordance with the responsibilities given," continued the President.

The inauguration ceremony ended with the congratulation by President Jokowi which was then attended by all invited guests.

In his statement after the inauguration ceremony, the General Chairperson of the Central Executive Board, HBL Mantiri explained that the main task of LVRI was to pass on the soul, spirit, and values of 1945 to the nation's successors.

Mantiri also expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of LVRI membership which was carried out in conjunction with the inauguration of the TNI Commander who was considered one of the successors to the struggle of veterans.

"We are grateful that we are jointly uniting continuity, not separated between us who are already veterans and the active TNI," he said.

Also present at the inauguration were the heads of state institutions, a number of ministers of the Indonesia Maju cabinet, the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the chiefs of staff of the force.
