The West Java Provincial Health Office (Dinkes) is investigating the alleged case of mass poisoning in Purwakarta Regency, where 227 people experienced vomiting after consuming food on Friday (17/11).
Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the West Java Health Office, Rochady Hendra Setya Wibawa, said that one of the researches was a sample of vomit victims suspected of having been poisoned and the food they consumed.
"We have taken samples from Friday's blessing food in the form of rice, fried noodles and ballad eggs. Currently, vomit samples are also being studied at the Labkesda (Regional Health Laboratory)," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 20.
In addition to testing samples, his party conducts examinations, provides medicines and referrals, as well as coordinates with local villages and officials.
He said that so far there were 227 victims of poisoning, with details of 195 people with mild symptoms and 32 people with severe symptoms. No one died in the incident.
All victims, he said, have now been treated by being given infusions, giving oral, and other medicines, as well as intensive monitoring.
The health workers who handled the poisoning case, said Rochady, recorded 84 people.
