UN: Israel Only Allows Half Of Fuel Aid To Enter Gaza

JAKARTA - Director of the United Nations Aid and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, Thomas White, announced that Israel only allowed the entry of half the fuel needed from daily humanitarian aid to Gaza. "Limited amounts of fuel have entered Gaza," White said in a statement on X's social media account quoted from Anadolu, Sunday, November 19. The official stated that "when Israeli authorities restrict fuel entering Gaza - this means reducing capacity at the Rafah Border to receive aid trucks," he said. White said Israeli authorities only allowed 50 percent of the daily fuel needs for humanitarian aid that could save people. "The big gap in the response to this aid - for example people will only get two-thirds of their daily needs for clean drinking water," the official stressed. As 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip were forced to flee as a result of Israel's intensive attacks, more than 800 thousand Palestinians sought refuge in UNRWA facilities. Since Israel began bombing on October 7, more than 12 thousand Palestinians have been killed, including more than 8,300 women and children, while more than 30 thousand others have been injured, according to recent data. Thousands of buildings, including hospitals, mosques and churches, have been damaged or destroyed by Israel's relentless air and land attacks in the trapped enclave.

The Israeli blockade has also cut off supplies of fuel, electricity and water to Gaza, and reduced aid deliveries to only a few distributed. Meanwhile, the death toll in Israel is about 1,200 people, according to official data.
