After Examining Firli Bahuri, Bareskrim-Polda Metro Corruption Investigators Immediately Consolidate

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri, has completed an additional examination as a witness in the alleged extortion case of the former Minister of Agriculture, Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Joint investigators from the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at Bareskrim and the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police immediately carried out consolidation. "From the results of today's examination, then joint investigators will consolidate," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Thursday, November 16. In the consolidation, the joint team will determine further investigation steps. This is solely to make the suspect known. "Implementing anev (analysis and evaluation) from the fingerprint journey that we have carried out from November 9 to today, Thursday, November 16, 2023, to determine steps for further investigations," he said.

However, the consolidation that will be carried out is not to determine the suspect. Because, it can only go through a case title process. However, regarding the time of the case title, Ade was reluctant to comment. He only stated that the investigation process was still ongoing. "The process of determining or determining the suspect is carried out through a process or case title mechanism," said Ade. In this case, investigators have examined 86 witnesses and 8 experts. So, in total 94 people have been questioned during the investigation process. At this stage of investigation, it is believed that there was a criminal offense in Article 12 letter e, Article 12 letter B and or Article 11 of the Corruption Act Junto Article 65 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
