Jembrana Police, Bali, arrested a fake doctor named I Putu Eka Satya Tanaya (34) from Gesing Village, Banjar District, Buleleng Regency, Bali.

The perpetrator was arrested for committing fraud and importing his own girlfriend, a woman named Ni Kade Sonia Pradesi (26), which reached tens of millions of rupiah.

"The modus operandi is that the suspect claims to be a doctor so that the victim wants to have a relationship and then the suspect asks for money from the victim," he said.

Initially the victim and perpetrator became acquainted in 2020. The perpetrator claimed to be a specialist anesthetist with Number ID: NPA IDI 141789 who served at Siloam General Hospital (RSU), on Sunset Road Street, Kuta District, Badung Regency, and at Wangaya General Hospital, Denpasar City.

Over time, the victim and the perpetrator finally became in a relationship or dating.

On March 11, 2022, the perpetrator asked for help from the victim to take care of the payment for the payment of the perpetrator's motorbike of Rp. 20 million by transferring it to the perpetrator's account.

Furthermore, the perpetrator borrowed money from the victim several times to reach Rp37 million.

At that time, the perpetrator promised to return the money after the perpetrator's land was sold.

Apart from committing fraud to his own girlfriend. The perpetrator also tricked a pre named Ida Bagus Adi Naranatha.

The perpetrators invited cooperation in the health sector until Ida Bagus Adi Naranata finally became interested and transferred Rp4.5 million to the perpetrators. But until now the promised cooperation is not running.

"Furthermore, the victim and witness (Ida Bagus Adi Naratha) checked the suspect's ID number and it turned out to be fake. The ID number given by the suspect was in the name of another person (named) Muhamad Lukman Hasan. With this incident the victim and the witness have been harmed by Rp. 61,500,000," he said.

Through the victim's report, the perpetrator was arrested by the police and is now being held at the Jembrana Police Headquarters, Bali.

"The suspect and the victim initially became acquainted through social media in 2020. And the suspect claimed to be a doctor who worked at the hospital," he said.

In addition, the victim also had time to invite the perpetrator to get married but the perpetrator for various reasons avoided the marriage.

"However, time did not go back for various reasons. Because the suspect and the victim were invited to get married, but the suspect always avoided it," he explained.

The victim then became suspicious of the suspect because he could not return the money borrowed. The victim immediately checked the hospital where the victim worked and it turned out that the suspect was a fake doctor.

"Finally, the victim felt suspicious, he finally checked directly at the hospital without (the suspect's name). We checked on IDI's website, it turned out that the ID number used for this doctor was registered on behalf of another doctor. Therefore, he felt cheated and made a report to us," he said.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator is known to be unemployed and to convince the victim of the perpetrator when the video call always uses the attributes of the doctor.

"He is a suspect, does not have a permanent job, freelancers, he uses it for his personal interests, fortunately he uses medical attributes or health workers to commit this fraud, he has not had time to open the practice, that is the most dangerous thing later," he explained.

The perpetrators were charged with Article 441, Paragraph (1) of Law Number 17 of 2023, which reads that everyone who uses an identity in the form of a title or other form that makes an impression on the community concerned is medical personnel or health workers who already have STR and or SIP.
