SIDOARJO - Sidoarjo Customs and Excise Officer, East Java destroyed illegal cigarettes and excise duty worth Rp23 billion with a total state loss of Rp13 billion.

Head of Sidoarjo Customs and Excise, Rudy Hery Kurniawan, said that to eradicate the circulation of illegal cigarettes that are circulating in the community, Sidoarjo Customs and Excise has a special strategy called Go-Enforcement.

"These strategic steps include carrying out control and supervision of licensing, monitoring of excise stamps, and other control according to findings in the field," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.

In addition, he said, his party also assisted in compliance and coaching so that the cigarette industry in the Sidoarjo Customs work area rose to degrees, so that the existence of this industry has a positive effect not only on revenue, but also on economic growth in the regions.

"For example, related to linting workers, tobacco farmers and so on," he said.

His party also optimizes the receipt by providing a target (receipt) to each customs based on accurate and transparent data analysis.

"As well as the application of the Ultimum Remedium principle in the context of a fiscal recovery for violations in the field of excise. Enforcement activities, and destruction are carried out as part of coaching and efforts to provide a deterrent effect to the perpetrators," he said.

The Directorate General of Customs and Excise continues to strive to carry out its function as a community protection by protecting the public from the circulation of illegal goods, including cigarettes.
