KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri Affirms Not To Avoid Investigation At Polda Metro

The Chairman of the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri emphasized that he was not absent or avoided an investigation call from the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the case that is currently ensnaring him.

"So there is no word avoiding (the examination at Polda Metro Jaya) or anything, nothing," said Firli Bahuri, in Banda Aceh, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 9.

Firli Bahuri made this statement to reporters after participating in the KPK's roadshowBus and road to Hakordia2023 activities at the Meuseuraya Aceh (BMA) Hall, in Banda Aceh.

Previously reported, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri again did not fulfill the summons for an examination by the Polda Metro Jaya which was scheduled for 10.00 WIB on Tuesday (7/11).

That day, Firli left for Aceh for the KPK roadshowbus and Hakordia2023 roadto activities.

This is the second time Firli has not been present as a witness regarding the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

He emphasized that he would face all ongoing legal processes. "I will face all of them," he said.

Firli emphasized that he went to the land of rencong to carry out his duties as the full-responsibilities Chair of the KPK or the highest-responsibility person related to the implementation of the KPK's duties, either carrying out prevention efforts so that corruption does not occur.

Then, the task is to coordinate with agencies that eradicate corruption, public services, monitor government administration and supervise.

"You may follow my activities here, not traveling, I carry out the main duties of the Chairman of the KPK, carrying out the main duties of the KPK in Article 6 of Law 19 of 2019," he said.

"In addition, we are also supervising the prosecutor's office and the police, and today we are carrying out 'road to Hakordia' 2023 activities in Aceh," said Firli Bahuri.
