JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) is preparing medical equipment assistance to be sent to Palestine to help deal with casualties due to the intense Israeli attack on Gaza.

"We sent assistance yesterday, the second stage, Mr. President, was willing to give two million US dollars (United States). Now we are in the process of purchasing the equipment," said Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Tangerang, Wednesday, November 8, as reported by Antara.

The Minister of Health said that medical equipment assistance is expected to be ready to be sent to Palestine in the next two weeks.

"The Ministry of Health was also asked by the President to contact Palestinians, ask what they need," he said.

The Ministry of Health has distributed seven tons of aid to Palestine. The aid is part of the 26.5 tons of Indonesian Government's humanitarian assistance to Palestine which was sent on November 5, 2023.

According to the Head of the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health, Sumarjaya, assistance that has been sent to Palestine includes emergency equipment for minor surgery, basic medicines, additional food for pregnant women and toddlers, and water clarity.
