Received By Jokowi At The Palace, PPDI Conveys Aspirations For Increased Salaries And Allowances For Village Heads

JAKARTA - The National Board of Management (DPN) of the Indonesian Village Apparatus Association (PPDI) met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to convey a number of aspirations, including regarding the increase in salaries and positions of village officials.

"We convey about the need for the President's attention to improving welfare, especially salaries, allowances, including full-task income for village officials and village heads throughout Indonesia, especially seen from the service period," said the Panashih Council of the PPDI DPN Muhammad Asri Anas after meeting President Jokowi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 8, was confiscated by Antara.

On that occasion, Anas said that the PPDI DPN conveyed the main ideas regarding the revision of Law Number 6 of 2016 concerning Villages, as well as explaining what had not been contained in the draft revision of the Village Law.

According to him, President Jokowi agreed to evaluate the welfare of village officials. The President, said Anas, would order the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian to convey to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati to evaluate the welfare of village officials.

Anas explained that in the revision of the Village Law, PPDI had also compiled a List of Problem Inventorys (DIM), including the term of office of the village head.

"Seeing what the President said, of course the PPDI DPN is fighting for the term of office of the village head, the first two options are nine years, the second eight years and two periods. But it seems that the President is more towards eight years and two terms," he said.

Anas hopes that the DPR will also immediately process the revision of the Village Law because the Government has also submitted the DIM. "If necessary before the election we hope this is knocked," he said.

The PPDI DPN also expressed hope that village funds would reach Rp5 billion per village. However, the distribution of village funds remains proportional, which refers to village strata, village qualifications, population, regional area and others.

"In principle, the President agrees, but the principle of proportionality is to look at village strata, village qualifications, population, regional area and so on. This is certainly good news to convey village friends, 74 thousand (villages) PPDI DPN are fighting for the progress of our village throughout Indonesia," he said.

The PPDI DPN also proposed changing the recruitment pattern of village assistants. He said village assistants needed to come from the ranks of the village's best sons, or no longer from other regions.

"If necessary, the companion cannot leave the sub-district. So there should be no transfer companions from other districts entering, to, or, from the province," he said.
