Cianjur Health Office Checks One Family Regarding Suspected Monkeypox

CIANJUR - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, conducted a search and examination of a family in Haurwangi District whose family members were reported to be suspected of having monkeypox and undergoing treatment at the West Bandung Hospital.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Cianjur District Health Office, Dr. Frida Laila Yahya, said that the investigation and examination of the suspect's family was immediately carried out by the local health center because he had returned to Cianjur.

"For the case of monkeypox, it has not been found in Cianjur, but we received information from the West Bandung District Health Office that we are treating a man with a suspected Cianjur ID card or suspected monkeypox, so tracing and examination are carried out," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 7.

Anticipatory steps are taken to ensure that no other family members are exposed because they go back and forth from Cianjur every day to West Bandung, including avoiding transmission even though it is just a suspicion.

Various efforts to anticipate the spread of monkeypox cases, including in Cianjur, have instructed all health workers at the puskesmas to take preventive and quick treatment steps when finding patients with symptoms of the disease.

"We increase vigilance and prevent the spread, including when we find patients who are directly indicated to be treated quickly so that there is no spread," he said.

The President Director of the Cianjur Sayang Hospital, Dr. Irvan Nur Fauzi, said that regarding the outbreak of monkeypox cases in a number of areas in West Java, including in Cianjur, his party had prepared four isolation rooms and health workers to provide quick treatment.

"Although the case has not been found in Cianjur, we have prepared an isolation room as an effort to handle it quickly, including health workers who can directly provide services," he said.

He asked the public not to panic and immediately take family members who are suspected of being exposed to the hospital when experiencing symptoms of respiratory problems such as coughing, colds appear red spots or spots or face-on spots appear on the skin's surface.

"Monkeypox can be transmitted through close contact, such as ordinary smallpox or by air, don't panic, immediately take it to the nearest health service center or to the hospital. Family members can self-isolate according to the instructions of health workers," he said.
