Responding To Utut Adianto, TNI Commander: It Is Impossible For The President To Order Law Breaking

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono assessed that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would not order anything that violated the law. Especially related to the 2024 election.

This was emphasized by Yudo in response to the Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Utut Adianto, who asked whether the TNI Commander dared to reject the president's order if the order was against the law in a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR, Tuesday, November 7.

"Yes, it is impossible for the president to order to violate the law," said Yudo to reporters.

According to him, it is impossible for President Jokowi to issue orders that are contrary to statutory regulations.

"It's impossible. When did the president order to violate the law? Yes, no, where is it," said Yudo.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Utut Adianto, questioned the neutrality of the TNI in the 2024 election to the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono during a working meeting. Utut questioned the courage of the TNI Commander to reject the president's order if the order was against the law.

"The TNI has been neutral. Who is the boss of the TNI? The President as the supreme commander said A, can you refuse? If the order is against the law?," Utut said in a working meeting in the House of Representatives Commission I room, Tuesday, November 7.

It is known that President Jokowi is considered to have practiced dynastic politics through the nomination of his eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which was passed by the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the age limit of the vice presidential candidate.

Whereas in the rules, Gibran should not run as a presidential or vice presidential candidate because he is still less than 40 years old.
