JAKARTA - Business Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) I Gede Adi Adnyana emphasized that Formula E in the third year will still be held.
This is in response to the discourse of the 2024 Formula E event which is threatened with cancellation from the initial schedule and has the potential to change its implementation time due to colliding with the 2024 General Election agenda.
"The style of Formula E continues, yes. There are no other concerns," Adi said when met at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 6.
However, Adi has not been able to confirm when this electric car racing event will be held. Currently, Jakpro is still communicating with Formula E Operation (FEO) as the license holder of the race regarding the schedule that coincides with the election stages.
"We don't want to precede the situation. We want to make everything cool, here. We want to face the election. That's all first," he said.
Jakarta is actually scheduled to hold a Formula E race at the Ancol E-Prix International Circuit on June 8, 2024. However, the schedule collided with the general election agenda (election).
As a result of the 2024 General Election, the International Automotive Federation (FIA) recently issued Jakarta in the tenth season racing calendar of the Formula E world championship ABB FIA.
"The event planned for Jakarta on Saturday, June 8 will not be continued after the announcement of the campaign period in the Indonesian presidential election for most of June," said an official statement from Formula E.

"This will have an impact on logistics on race delivery on the streets of the capital at the same time. Formula E and authorities in Jakarta are exploring the feasibility of racing in the city on an alternative date," the statement continued.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government prioritizes the smooth implementation of the 2024 General Election, starting from the presidential election, legislative election, to regional elections.
"Yes (the main priority of the 2024 General Election)," said Heru at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, October 24.
Therefore, Heru asked the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) to consider the impact it would have if Formula E continued to be held at a time close to the election.
"Jakpro must consider everything including situations and conditions, right. There are elections, there are presidential elections, there are regional elections. Then on the day, the date, the time, the public interest is also a lot," said Heru.
