Stranas PK Encourages SOEs To Cooperate To Manage Waste

JAKARTA - The National Corruption Prevention Strategic Team (Stranas PK) asked BUMN and BUMD to manage waste for benefits and benefits, such as PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

"BUMN PT Semen Indonesia has used Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) as a substitute fuel for coal in its production," said National Stranas Daily Coordinator of PK Niken Ariati in a written statement to reporters, Sunday night, November 5.

Niken explained that the waste problem was also highlighted not without reason. He said, the KPK had already conducted a study on this matter and the result was that the progress of its implementation was slow.

In fact, the government has issued Presidential Decree No. 56 of 2018 related to energy infrastructure from waste origin. Thus, state and regional business entities are reminded to cooperate.

"Stranas PK encourages the synergy of BUMN and BUMD through waste management as one of the outputs in the supervision of Regional Owned Enterprises. This action is one of 15 acts to Prevent Corruption in 2023-2024," explained Niken.

In this effort, Niken said that Stranas PK would invite a number of parties to conduct discussions on Monday, November 6. Among them, the Deputy for Environmental and Forestry Management Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the President Director of PT Semen Indonesia, the President Director of PT PLN Tbk, and the Expert Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Then the Governor of DKI Jakarta, the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, the Regent of Banyumas, regents and mayors closest to the PLTU, and PT Semen Indonesia. (The goal, ed) is to find out the practice of waste management from upstream to downstream so that zero waste is created," he said.

"And get the local government's commitment to completing waste management," continued Niken.

This opportunity will also be used by Stranas PK to socialize the 2023-2024 corruption prevention action, especially BUMD supervision. This is because the 2019 Regional Financial National Coordination Meeting held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) said that BUMD's profit for its total assets was only around 3.05 percent.

"This condition shows that most BUMDs are losing money. The lack of optimal supervision of government-owned enterprises, both BUMN and BUMD, has created gaps in corrupt practices," concluded Niken.
