Police: Beware Of Palestinian Defense Actions Riding The Fundraising Of Terror Groups

The National Police's Anti-terror Special Detachment (Densus) 88 appealed to residents who took part in the Palestinian defense action at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (5/11), to be aware of certain groups that take advantage of these humanitarian actions to raise funds for terrorists.

"Of course we urge you to be vigilant or the term if in these activities are careful of the presence or use or being ridden by these terror groups," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Police Spokesperson Kombes Police Aswin Siregar reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 3.

According to Aswin, this incident had happened before, including provocation of propaganda, by raising the issue of the collapse of Muslims as a motive and indifference of the security forces.

Then related to collecting donations in a humanitarian action, this is because the Indonesian people are known for their generosity. However, it is necessary to be aware that the money donated should not be given to the head of the terror group who participates in the action of raising funds.

"The problem is that the money we have found is only distributed to terror groups there. Even though maybe if it is distributed in a more general sense, there is no problem," Aswin said. Aswin said that his party was monitoring to anticipate the existence of terror groups riding the Palestinian defense action.

"Densus will monitor whether there are activities of terror groups that will ride or enter there," said Aswin.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the 2023 Kasatwil Meeting in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/11) had reminded his staff to anticipate the impact of increasing global escalation. Namely the Israel-Palestinian war that can generate cells affiliated with terrorist groups.
