Ganjar Yakin MKMK Netral Saat Mengutus Dugaan Pelanggaran Etik: Rakyat Akan Menonton

JAKARTA - Candidate for president (candidate) Ganjar Pranowo believes that the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) will be neutral when deciding alleged ethical violations of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman and other judges on Tuesday, November 7. They will not cheat because the public will be witnesses.

This was conveyed by Ganjar in response to the neutrality of MKMK Chairman Jimly Asshiddiqie because he had expressed support for Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"God willing, we can (neutral, ed) because the people are all watching. It will be risky if today all those who try it or the ethics team are not neutral, will be tried by all and do not let it collapse (fair, ed)," said Ganjar to reporters at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, November 3.

Ganjar did not want to talk much about the decision because he was reluctant to precede the Constitutional Court. However, he believes Jimly has led a good ethical examination and the process has been carried out several times openly.

"And this is the first time this has happened in the world. So it means that it is an initial statement that we hope that the decision will not precede," he said.

As previously reported, Jimly Asshiddiqie apparently met a presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), Prabowo Subianto. Thus, his position as a member of the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) is considered full of conflicts of interest.

This was conveyed by the Executive Director of the Public Virtue Research Institute (PVRI) Yansen Dinata who said Jimly had met Prabowo in May 2023.

"From that meeting, Jimly once acknowledged his support for Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election," Yansen said as quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, October 24.

Not only that, Yansen assessed that Jimly had a close relationship with the Gerindra Party. This is because one of his children, Robby Ashiddiqie, is a cadre of the party made by Prabowo Subianto.
