21 Drug Case Perpetrators Arrested In Karawang During October 2023

The Karawang Resort Police (Polres) arrested 21 perpetrators of narcotics abuse and illegal drugs or drugs in an operation that was held during October 2023.

"In the operation that was held during October, we arrested 21 people who were drug dealers, psychotropics and certain hard drugs," said Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Karawang Police, Adjunct Commissioner of Police Arif Zaenal Abidin when releasing the disclosure of drug cases at the Karawang Police Headquarters, Wednesday, November 1, confiscated by Antara.

He said as many as 21 people who were arrested were disclosures of 18 drug abuse cases, consisting of 12 cases of marijuana and methamphetamine and six cases of drug trafficking.

"The perpetrators who were arrested were dealers who used to act in a number of Karawang areas," he said.

From the arrest, the police confiscated a number of evidences in the form of methamphetamine weighing 209.41 grams, 591.08 grams of marijuana, and 23,489 hexymer and tramadol pills.

"Each perpetrator is charged with a different article," he added.

The perpetrators of the distribution of methamphetamine are charged with Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with 112 paragraph (1) and Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

Then for the perpetrators of the circulation of marijuana-type narcotics, Article 114 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 111 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 and the perpetrators of the circulation of illegal drugs are charged with Article 435 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health.
