It's Fun To Create Content, Junior High School Students In Berau, East Kalimantan Died By River Currents

A 14-year-old junior high school student was found dead in the Sengah River, Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, Monday, October 30 afternoon. Before being found dead, a junior high school student named Abdul Aziz was declared missing when he was engrossed in the Segah River while creating content for social media (Medsos). The victim experienced an unfortunate incident when he was busy making shower-bathing video content in the river with a number of his age friends. At that time, the victim who was suddenly dragged by the swift current of the Segah River, was helped by a number of his friends. But unfortunately, the victim was again released and immediately drowned by the swift current of the Segah River. After the incident, the victim's friends finally managed to report it to the authorities who were then forwarded to the Balikpapan Basarnas Office. Responding to the report, the joint SAR team from Balikpapan Basarnas together with BPBD, TNI-Polri, and volunteers immediately went down to the location to conduct a search effort. Coordinator of the Berau SAR Alert Unit, Noor Ngalim said that after nearly three hours of searching efforts were carried out, the victim was finally found dead. "The development of the search for the child sinking age of 14 years in the Segah River, Mount Tabul, Alhamdulillah at 16.40 Wita, the victim of Abdul Aziz was found by the joint SAR team," said Nur Ngalim, Monday, October 30. According to him, the victim's body was found as far as 50 meters from the location of the last victim was seen. "From a distance of approximately 50 meters to the west," he added. Furthermore, the joint SAR team also evacuated the victim's body and was immediately rushed to the Abdul Rivai Berau Hospital at the request of the family.

With the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation to search for junior high school youth in the waters of Sungai Segah was officially declared closed. The local police also appealed to the public to be more careful and vigilant, especially when creating content for social media, so as much as possible to avoid dangerous locations that could threaten safety.
