SURABAYA - Center for Anti-Corruption and Democracy Studies (PUSAD) Muhammadiyah University Surabaya (UM Surabaya) released the results of a survey of the 2024 presidential election, a young voter version in East Java, which resulted in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming pair winning with a 4 percent difference over Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

"Prabowo-Gibran is ahead of the younger voter version, followed by the Ganjar-Mahfud Md pair with a insignificant difference of 4 percent and there are 10 percent of young voters in East Java who have not made a choice regarding the 2024 presidential election," said PUSAD UM Surabaya Main Researcher Radius Setiyawan in Surabaya as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 27.

Radius said that the population of voter research in East Java was 17 years old to 40 years old when the survey was conducted. The Framework (sampling frame) comes from the voter population according to age classification based on data from the East Java KPU in 2024.

Radius explained that the sampling technique used the Random Sampling Stadium as well as locations taken in all sub-districts in East Java, as many as 38 districts/cities.

Furthermore, each district/city is taken 4-5 sub-districts to be used as a survey complex. The samples of each sub-district are divided proportionally based on the number of voters in each sub-district and sub-district which are used as research locations.

Our team took a sample of 1,075 respondents proportionally spread across 38 districts/cities. The margin for tolerance (standart of error/d) is 3 percent and the error rate (this research) is 5 percent. Meanwhile, the interview process is carried out by phone using a questionnaire by the enumerator," he said.

Radius hopes that from the results released by the Surabaya UM Center for Anti-Corruption and Democracy Studies (PUSAD) related to the electability of young people in East Java, it will be a barometer guarding the running of overflowing democracy and jurdil in Indonesia.
