The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, is considered a traitor because he is running as a vice presidential candidate promoted by another political party to accompany Prabowo Subianto.

Even though when declared the vice presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, Gibran was still a cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

"It's okay," said Gibran after undergoing a medical test at the RSPAD, Jakarta, Thursday, October 26.

Regarding his status at PDIP, Gibran emphasized that he had answered this last week after meeting the chairman of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani.

"I've met Ms. Puan. Ms. Puan has also answered, right," he said.

However, President Joko Widodo's eldest son denied that he had carried out two-leg political practices.

"What are the two parties?," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Honorary Division of the PDIP DPP Komarudin Watubun, emphasized that Gibran Rakabuming Raka is no longer a PDIP cadre. This is because he has registered as a vice presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) accompanying Prabowo Subianto in the 2024 presidential election.

"De facto ke membership Gibran di PDI Perjuangan telah berakhir setelah pendaftarannya secara resmi menjadi cawapres dari KIM," kata Komarudin melalui keterangan tertulisnya, Kamis, 26 Oktober.

Komarudin asked all parties not to be excited. "In party organizations, leaving, moving, stopping are normal," he said.

Even so, Komarudin said Gibran was a cadre who was not straight with the party's instructions to support the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair. However, PDIP admits that there is no problem with this.

"One cadre came out, there are many new party cadres who have the potential to join the party and TPN Ganjar-Mahfud," he said.
