PALEMBANG - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reviewed the distribution of government rice reserves, which is a food aid program for the November allocation at Bulog Sukamaju Warehouse, Palembang City, South Sumatra.

"Have you received the first and second stages of food aid rice? If you have received this assistance, then I will add the assistance for December," Jokowi said while reviewing the food assistance as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, October 26.

He said that after adding the aid in December, his party would also design for the food aid program to continue in 2024.

"We will redesign this food aid program in 2024, but provided that the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is sufficient," said Jokowi.

In addition to reviewing food aid rice, the President also distributed three bicycles and non-cash aid packages containing rice, oil, sugar, and so on.

One of the residents of Saki Muslim District said he was happy after receiving non-cash assistance from President Jokowi.

"Alhamdulillah, I am happy to get packages from basic necessities containing rice, oil, sugar, and so on, because it can help with household needs," he said.

Head of Perum Bulog South Sumatra Babel Mohammad Alexander said the food aid distributed was 736 beneficiary families (KPM) for the November allocation.

His party has completed the distribution of the first phase of food assistance, with a total details of 5,820 tons of rice per month allocated for 582 thousand KPM.

"Meanwhile, food assistance for the period of September and October is 100 percent and this is continuing for November, and South Sumatra is among the first to quickly distribute the aid," he explained.

"The South Sumatra Babel Bulog has a stock of 23,200 tons of rice, the stock is sufficient for the next four to five months," said Alex.
