JAKARTA - The general chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, responded to the status of the vice presidential candidate Gibran Rakabuming Raka, whether he had joined as a banyan cadre or not. Airlangga asked all parties to be patient. Because he said, this was still in progress. It is known, when he was promoted as a vice presidential candidate, Gibran still had the status as a PDIP cadre. "Be patient first, just be patient, this is continuing," said Airlangga at the KPU RI building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, October 25. The Coordinating Minister for the Economy emphasized that currently his party is still focused on registering Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming as a candidate for presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate to the KPU. Therefore, he is still reluctant to explain the status of Gibran both in PDIP and in Golkar. "We are still listing the election for cawapres presidential candidates," said Airlangga. Gibran, who is a PDI-P cadre, was officially promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) as a vice presidential candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto's presidential candidate. Prabowo announced Gibran's candidacy on Sunday night accompanied by the general chairman of his coalition party consisting of the Golkar Party, Democrats, Gelora, PAN, PAN, PBBU, Garuda, Prima, and Gerindra.

Prabowo and Gibran officially registered as presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election to the KPU on Wednesday. Meanwhile, PDIP formed a coalition with PPP, Hanura, and Perindo to carry the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo and vice presidential candidate Mahfud MD. The coalition formed by PDIP and other parties has officially registered Ganjar and Mahfud with the KPU.
