Police Examined, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri Claims To Meet SYL March 2022

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri is said to have admitted that he had met Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL, then Minister of Agriculture, in March 2022.

This confession was conveyed by Firli when undergoing examination as a witness in the alleged extortion case against SYL which took place at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Tuesday, October 24.

"Regarding the circulating photos, it is also part of the investigative material that we carried out. (Firli Bahuri) confirmed (about the meeting with SYL)," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.

But it was not clearly conveyed the results of the examination regarding the purpose and purpose of the meeting between Firli Bahuri and Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

Although referring to the news circulating, the two meetings were related to giving some money so that the KPK would not investigate cases of alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture.

"Regarding the investigation material, we cannot reveal it yet, but what is clear is that he acknowledged the meeting," he said.

Ade only emphasized that the process of handling the alleged extortion case would be carried out in a professional and transparent manner.

"Once again, because this concerns the matter of investigation, we cannot reveal it now. However, we from investigators from the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and Bareskrim Polri will uphold transparency, professionalism and accountability from our investigative activities," said Ade.

The meeting between Firli and Syahrul allegedly met in the badminton sports arena (gor).
