Today, Firli Bahuri Undergoes Investigation Of Alleged SYL Extortion At The Criminal Investigation Unit Of The Police

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri asked for a process of examining him regarding the alleged extortion case of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes at Bareskrim Polri.

In the summons for examination, Firli was originally scheduled to provide information at the Polda Metro Jaya, on Tuesday, October 24.

"The chairman of the KPK RI, brother FB, asked for an examination at the Bareskrim Polri office," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to VOI, Tuesday, October 24.

With the consideration of the interests of the investigation, Firli Bahuri's request was granted. Sehigga, the chairman of the KPK will take his statement as a witness at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipikor) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit at around 10.00 WIB.

The request was agreed because Dittipikor was also involved in handling the alleged extortion case as an assistance team.

"Investigators who will conduct an examination of FB as the Chairman of the Indonesian KPK are joint investigators, namely the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya and the Dittipidkor Bareskrim Polri," said Ade.

During the investigation process, around 52 witnesses have been questioned. Some of them are KPK employees.

Then, there was also the Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar and Syahrul Yasin Limpo who were questioned at the initial stage of the investigation process.

"Of the 52 witnesses that we have examined or requested information from 8 KPK employees," said Ade.

The series of cases of alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo began when Polda Metro Jaya received Dumas on August 12, 2023.

With the complaint, the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya collected information on the basis of a statement collection order (pulbaket) issued on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Not long after, investigators issued an investigation warrant on August 21. At this stage, a number of witnesses were examined, one of which was SYL.

Then, after the series of investigations were completed, investigators carried out a case title. As a result, a criminal element was found so that the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
