BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh City Police reconciled the case of clashes between students from five districts in Aceh Province that occurred on Saturday (21/10). Criminal acts in this matter are also resolved through restorative justice.

"Alhamdulillah, all the figures, students and all those involved agreed peacefully," said Banda Aceh Police Chief Kombes Fahmi Irwan Ramli as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

The peace procession was also due to mediation from elements of the Banda Aceh Forkopimda, in this case the acting Mayor of Banda Aceh, Polresta and Kodim 0101 KBA.

The peace that took place at the Banda Aceh Police Headquarters was attended by community leaders who were also representatives of the government from five regions, namely Gayo Lues Regency, Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, Southwest Aceh, and South Aceh.

Previously, there was a misunderstanding during a futsal match between Southwest Aceh students and Takengon at the Qais Sport Peurada Futsal Field, Banda Aceh, Saturday (21/10) morning. The misunderstanding then had a long tail until the clash between students occurred.

In fact, the clashes spread to involve students from five regions, namely Southwest Aceh, South Aceh, Bener Meriah, Takengon, and Gayo Lues. The problem was finally suppressed by the security forces.

Kombes Fahmi conveyed that with the peace between parties, the issue of criminal and civil charges had all been revoked.

"However, this requires a law enforcement process. We will complete it related to the administration of the investigation and the entire series of reports from all parties are revoked. We will complete it restorative justice," he said.

After this peace, continued Fahmi, a number of students who had been detained by the police were immediately released and returned to the prominent figure.

"We return them (students) back to their respective regional figures," he said.

In preventing similar cases from occurring, his party continues to increase patrols, appeals to conduct raids.

"We continue to carry out patrols, appeals, take to the streets, and raids to anticipate incidents like this will repeat itself," said Kombes Fahmi.

Meanwhile, Acting Mayor of Banda Aceh Amiruddin said all parties had jointly signed the minutes of peace for the dispute between students.

"Alhamdulillah, thanks to the efforts of the Banda Aceh Police, finally all parties can be collected, signing an agreement as well as a joint peace declaration," said Amiruddin.
