South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Receives 2 New SPDP Reports On Forest And Land Fire Cases

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has again received two reports of Investigation Commencement Orders (SPDP) for cases of forest and land fires in the area.

Kasi Penerangan Hukum Kejati Sumsel Vanny Yulia Eka Sari mengatakan SPDP baru kasus kebakaran hutan dan lahan (karhutla) tersebut berasal dari Kejaksaan Negeri Banyuasin.

"Based on the latest SPDP report we received, namely from Banyuasin Regency as many as two SPDPs," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.

With the receipt of the two SPDPs, the South Sumatra Prosecutor's Office has so far received 27 SPDP perkara karhutla, most of which have been prosecuted to the stage of execution of the criminal sentence.

Vanny explained that the number of SPDP consisted of three Musi Banyuasin cases, one Ogan Ilir, six Lubuk Linggau cases, one Pali case,

Muara Enim has six cases, and most recently Banyuasin Regency has two cases.

Meanwhile, the most areas are SPDP reports from Ogan Komering Ilir Regency with the number of eight forest and land fires cases which are currently in legal proceedings.

"The perpetrators are individuals and there are no corporations (companies)," he said.

Ditegaskan, tidak menutup kemungkinan SPDP akan bertambah mengingat kasus kahutla saat ini masih terus terjadi di sejumlah kabupaten/kota di Sumsel.
