KPU Involves BNN Health Tests For Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates At RSPAD

The General Elections Commission (KPU) involved the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) during a medical test for the candidate pair for president and vice president on Saturday (21/10) at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto.

"Health, physical and spiritual examinations at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital. For drug-free examination by BNN, also at the hospital," said KPU member Idham Holik, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.

Idham said the KPU also deployed a number of officers to ensure that health tests could run smoothly and comfortably.

"Yes, KPU officers are prepared to help with the examination to help in the sense of smoothing it and ensuring the situation is comfortable. For health checks, doctors are fully carried out," he said.

The health test for the presidential/vice presidential candidate who previously registered with the KPU is scheduled to take place on Saturday at 07.00 WIB.

"Health checks for the candidate to install the first listing candidates will be carried out in the morning. They will have a presidential/vice presidential candidate who must fast, yes, fasting, not eating, for at least 8 hours before the examination begins," he explained.

The KPU has scheduled presidential/vice presidential candidate pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD this weekend, on October 21 and 22, 2023 at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital.

"Based on the discussion of the meeting between the KPU and the health examination team at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, for prospective pairs of candidates registered at the first opportunity, a medical examination will be carried out at the RSPAD on Saturday (21/10)," said Chairman of the Indonesian KPU Hasyim Asy'ari after registering a candidate for president/vice president at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, Thursday (19/10).

The Anies-Cak Imin pair officially registered with the Indonesian KPU on the first day, Thursday (19/10). They will be the first candidate pairs to register as candidates for the 2024 presidential election.

Untuk itu, Anies-Cak Imin akan menjalani tes kesehatan pada hari Sabtu (21/10). Sementara itu, Ganjar-Mahfud menjadi pasangan calon kedua yang mendaftar maka pemeriksaan kesehatannya pada hari Minggu (22/10).

On Tuesday (17/10), the Head of the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Albertus Budi Sulistya, also confirmed that there would be no fraud in the health test against the prospective candidate pair.

"Our spirit is professionalism, the second is independence, the third is trustworthy. That principle is what we maintain so that there will be no fraud," said Budi Sulistya.

According to him, the mandate given by the KPU to carry out health tests on prospective candidate pairs is not the first time. Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, he said, already has strong enough capital to ensure its implementation runs well.

Budi revealed that in principle, prospective pairs who are declared healthy are physically, mentally, and also free from drugs.

"Those three things became big icons in this health check itself," he said.
