SYL's Handling Case, Polda Metro Examines Firli Bahuri Friday, October 20

Polda Metro Jaya sent a summons for an examination of the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri to provide information at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday, October 20.

Later, Firli will be questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case in the form of extortion or gratification by the KPK leadership against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

"The summons has been sent today to the KPK office for FB's brother as Chairman of the Indonesian KPK," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak when confirmed, Wednesday, October 18.

The plan is for the examination of Firli Bahuri to take place at the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya at around 14.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, today, investigators examined 19 other witnesses. Of the dozens of witnesses, one of them is Aide de Camp (ADC) or aide to the Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri, Kevin Egananta. He will undergo further examination.

"3 additional witnesses for examination, one of which is ADC, Chairman of the Indonesian KPK," he said.

Then, former Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Mochammad Jasin, 6 aides to echelon 1 officials at the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, one Pamwal Chairman of the Indonesian KPK, and 8 other witnesses were also questioned today.

The series of cases of alleged extortion or acceptance of gratuities by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo began when Polda Metro Jaya received Dumas on August 12, 2023.

With the complaint, the Tipidkor Sub-Directorate of the Ditreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya collected information on the basis of a statement collection order (pulbaket) issued on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Not long after, investigators issued an investigation warrant on August 21. At this stage, a number of witnesses were examined, one of which was SYL.

Then, after the series of investigations were completed, investigators carried out a case title. As a result, a criminal element was found so that the status of the case was upgraded to the investigation stage.
