12 People Named As Suspects In The Forest And Land Fire Case In Jambi

JAMBI A total of 12 people in Jambi are suspects in the case of burning forests and land (Karhutla). Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Hartono in Jambi, Sunday, October 15, said that the forest and land fires suspect was most secured in the Batanghari Regency area.

"The determination of the suspect is carried out as an effort to educate the public not to do the same (burning forests and land)," said Rusdi, Sunday, October 15.

Rusdi emphasized that the act of burning forests and land harms many people so that this act must be given firm action.

Previously, the police in Batanghari Regency named four suspects for burning forests and land. Meanwhile, other suspects came from several districts, such as Muaro Jambi and Tanjung Jabung Barat.

Meanwhile, Danrem 042/Gapu Brigadier General Supriono explained that the total land burned in Jambi reached 1,954 hectares.

Supriono said that the current forest and land fires were still under control.

"In a sense, it can be overcome within 3 to 6 hours so that it does not cause a disaster," he said.

"Unfortunately, due to El Nino's continued hot weather factor, our community is not all aware of how to clear land without burning," said Danrem.

The vast Jambi area, said Supriono, is not all capable of being handled by officers in the field optimally because of limited personnel.

Danrem hopes that all parties can work together to anticipate forest and land fires in Jambi by not burning land so that it does not have an impact on the smog disaster.
