Kombes Irwan Anwar Addressed Central Java Police Chief Before Being Examined In The SYL Case Extorted By KPK Leaders

JAKARTA - Semarang Police Chief Kombes Irwan Anwar is said to have faced the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi to ask for permission to leave for Jakarta today.

His departure was to provide testimony as a witness in the alleged extortion by the KPK leadership against the former Minister of Land (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL.

"Yes (to the Kapolda for permission to go to Jakarta)," said the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu when contacted, Tuesday, October 10.

However, it was not conveyed about the time of the examination of Kombes Irawan so he had to go to Jakarta, today.

Bayu said that what he knew was only the Semarang Police Chief met with the Central Java Police Chief to ask for permission.

"I don't know, I don't know. The person concerned (Irwan) has the same permit as the Regional Police Chief," said Bayu.

Polda Metro Jaya will again examine Kombes Irwan Anwar regarding the alleged extortion case committed by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL which has now gone up to the investigation stage.

However, it has not been stated when Kombes Irwan Anwar will be questioned. It was only emphasized that the re-examination of the Semarang Police Chief was carried out as the status of the case was increased to the investigation stage.

"There will be an agenda for summoning the person concerned to be questioned as a witness," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
