KPK Calls Former Minister Of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo Tomorrow

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will summon former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 11. SYL will be examined as a witness related to alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture.

"Tomorrow at the Merah Putih building, it is true that the KPK investigating team has scheduled summons and examinations as witnesses," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, October 10.

Ali said investigators would ask Syahrul for information for other suspects. "The part of the need to complete the evidence," he said.

As for this case, the KPK has not announced the suspects. However, information circulated that Syahrul was entangled along with two of his subordinates, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono and the Director of Agricultural Equipment and Machinery of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta.

Ali reminded Syahrul to cooperate in fulfilling the call. This is considered as a tangible form of his statement in the media some time ago.

"We hope that the person concerned can attend in accordance with his commitments which will always be cooperative in following the entire process of resolving the case," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK has raised the status of the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture to investigate. In investigating this case, investigators have conducted searches in a number of places.

At the official residence of Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo, for example, investigators found money worth Rp. 30 billion consisting of rupiah denominations and foreign currencies and firearms.

Then, the search was continued at the Ministry of Agriculture's office. As a result, documents related to the corruption case were found.

Most recently, investigators also visited Hatta's house in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. From the forced effort, Rp400 million was found.

Next, investigators also found an Audi A6 branded sedan that was confiscated by investigators. This car was obtained by investigators when they searched Syahrul's house in Makassar.

The findings obtained from the search are now being analyzed and confiscation will be carried out. Meanwhile, the findings of firearms were handed over to the police for follow-up.
