Angkasa Pura Logistics Trusted To Handle Mandalika MotoGP Cargo

PT Angkasa Pura Logistik (APLog) is again trusted to handle cargo for the 2023 MotoGP world racing event on October 13-15 at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) after successfully handling several international cargoes in various previous events.

APLog informed that the arrival of logistics for MotoGP racers will be carried out in stages starting September 28, October 9, 2023.

APLog Operations Director Trofiendy Suroso explained that for the umpteenth time APLog was trusted by MGPA and DORNA Sports as promoters of MotoGP and World Superbike Championship (WSBK) to handle logistics at the Mandalika MotoGP event.

Meanwhile, the estimated 2023 MotoGP cargo so far is around 525 tons by sea and air delivery.

"There are four stages that are handled by APLog, starting from the loading, distribution, unloading, and breakdown stages," he said.

APLog noted that as many as 20 total containers from European and Asian countries arrived and were examined by Customs and Excise in Tanjung Priok, Jakarta and Tanjung Perak, Surabaya.

Furthermore, container cargo continued its journey via sea to return to Lembar Harbor, NTB and finally via land to the Mandalika Circuit.

Apart from sea freight, since the beginning of the week, the arrival of MotoGP cargo has also been sent via air logistics using Nippon Cargo Airlines. The first aircraft with flight number KZ6231 carried motorbikes and spare parts as well as MotoGP support equipment that arrived at Zainuddin Abdul Majid International Airport (BIZAM) with a cargo of approximately 111 tons.

Then, followed by the second plane with flight number KZ2233 with a cargo of approximately 93 tons.

APLog has also handled air cargo at the 2022 MotoGP, 2022 WSBK, and 2023 WSBK events.

It is known, the Indonesian government is again preparing for the 2023 MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said that the MotoGP series event in Indonesia would be very interesting because of the tight competition between racers.

"So this MotoGP is the second time Indonesia has hosted and will be very interesting because at the end of the race season, the difference in numbers between the two highest racers is very close," Sandiaga said in a press statement at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (4/10).
