Trade Minister Zulhas, Ayu Ting Ting, Jesica Mila Has Enlivened Tanah Abang Market, Traders: Ordinary, Good Turnover During COVID19

JAKARTA - The business turnover in Block A Tanah Abang Market still looks empty of buyers until Thursday, October 5. Even though last week, the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) visited Tanah Abang Blok A Market and bought merchandise owned by traders.

A hijab accessories trader admitted that the conditions in Block A Tanah Abang Market were still empty of buyers. It was even said that conditions were still better during the COVID19 pandemic.

"It's normal, it's like this (simply) after the visit (Minister of Trade) too. There's a lot of people seeing him (the minister's visit). It's proven, Block A is quiet (the buyer has so far)," said Anisa (25), an accessory shop trader to VOI in Block A Tanah Abang Market, Thursday, October 5.

Although there have been various ways to do it by making an event attended by well-known artists and the visit of the Minister of Trade, the condition of the Tanah Abang market is still quiet.

"It's like yesterday there was an event too, there was Ayu Ting Ting here, then there was Jesika Mila, it's the same (silent buyers)," he said.

Anisa said that sales turnover was still better during the COVID-19 period at that time. Despite the pandemic, Anisa said that there are still many percentages of buyers compared to today.

"It's still better when the COVID-19 turnover. Right now it's plummeting. It's true that from July it has fallen, not falling again (omsets) but falling far away," he explained.
