After The Search Of The Official House, The KPK Makes Sure To Summon The Minister Of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has raised the status of alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). However, they have not planned to summon Syahrul Yasin Limpo who is currently the Minister of Agriculture (Mentan).KPK News Section Head Ali Fikri said that currently investigators are still focused on digging witness statements. As for this case, Syahrul is suspected of being dragged along with two other people, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture Kasdi Subagyono, and Director of Agriculture Equipment of the Ministry of Agriculture Muhammad Hatta. "The witnesses that we carried out in the process of investigation were then we summoned the suspect to carry out an examination, we detained him," Ali told reporters quoted on Tuesday, October 3. Even so, Ali ensured that Syahrul would be summoned. The process will be carried out by sending a letter. "All those summoned by the KPK, both witnesses and suspects, must have a summons," he said. Previously, the KPK revealed that there were three clusters handled by investigators. The details are extortion related to positions, gratuities, and alleged money laundering (TPPU). In investigating this case, searches have been carried out at the official residence of the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul. From the forced effort it was found that cash amounted to Rp30 billion in the form of rupiah denominations and foreign currency as well as 12 firearms.

The KPK then stated that it would analyze the findings of the money. Meanwhile, the firearms will be taken care of by the police. Not only that, investigators also searched the Ministry of Agriculture Office in Jakarta and the house of a suspect, Muhammad Hatta, who was in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. At the last location, the anti-corruption commission found Rp400 million in money allegedly related to allegations of corruption that was being investigated.
